If you have been following us recently you’ll know that a few weeks back we flew over the talented, gorgeous and bubbly duo Evie Johnstone + Hannah Harding to shoot some of our new collections. I met both girls through surfing and until I moved to Portugal 18 months ago, I hung out with these beauts in Newquay, Cornwall regularly. Hannah and Evie are filled to the brim with passion + drive, not to mention an abundance of energy and fun and I think this comes across in everything they do.
The two day shoot started in one of my favourite villages in the Algarve – Ferragudo. Ferragudo is a working fishing village located on the other side of the river from Portimao in the Algarve. Spend some time wandering it’s narrow streets and you’ll discover hidden restaurants, pretty tiles and a satisfying amount of colourful yet crumbling doorways. An ideal spot for shooting our travel-inspired bags. Its not the first time we have shot our collections here at Ferragudo and it certainly won’t be the last.
Below is my favourite street in Ferragudo and so I was really keen to take the girls here to shoot. Needless to say I was not disappointed with the outcome. Just look at those colours pop through…swooon!
Day two took us west to Sagres in search of waves and golden beach backdrops. We stopped off at Praia da Tonel where the pounding waves left us on the beach to capture a few shots of our Lolita beach bags. Watching the girls reel of dozens of gorgeous shots was totally inspiring and I knew that these would be some of my favourite from the two days.
The two days wasn’t without drama however. Whilst way down west at Tonel beach my car broke down and left us stranded for 6 hours. Luckily the girls have a good sense of humour and it was nothing a few ice cold beers couldn’t solve. The two day shoot ended in a tiny garage in Sagres surrounded by Soi 55 bags drinking (very cheap) vinho tinto waiting for our taxi to save us from this predicament.
I want to say a huge thanks to these babes who took time out of their super busy schedules to come shoot for my little brand. The photos are truly great and I can’t wait for a girls shoot weekend again soon!
Big love + palm trees always,
