November is my least favourite month of the year.

November is my least favourite month of the year. The dwindling hours of daylight just feels so oppressing to me.

Plus, summer feels like it’s on the other side of a very big mountain.

Winter in southern Portugal really isn’t bad. We’re blessed with mild temperatures and more blue sky days than not....but November, I hate November.

Hope everyone is hanging on in there. There’s no denying this winter has an extra struggle (or two) added on top.

I’m combating Covid winter blues with reduced screen time, fresh air, red wine and life plotting 🏚
I have been busy formulating some big dreams for the next year.

What a magical 28 hours ✨ I knew Sintra would b

What a magical 28 hours ✨

I knew Sintra would be quiet (November + Covid) but nothing could have prepared me for an empty Pena Palace.

My guess is that Sintra feels magical and fairytale-like year round but walking around a rainbow palace steeped in mist almost totally alone was surreal.

I managed to squeeze a lot into 28 hours but Sintra deserves at least 3 days to do it justice. I’ll be back in 2021 to see Quinta da Regaleira and more.
