These aren’t just standard suggestions that you can find anywhere. Yes, you’ll find some of the main sites pinned but don’t purchase this map for those (because you can get them for free anywhere). Purchase this map for the years of travel and depth of experience that is behind this map. Purchase for the activities that showcase the real Portugal, the backstreet tascas & snack bars, the small scale family-run vineyards, the areas of natural beauty, the hiking trails with breathtaking views, the quiet corners and the local vibes. This map is for the locations you can’t find on your typical copy and paste AI generated map.

Portugal Itinerary Planning
There is no shortage of itinerary ideas for Portugal online these days, everyone who has travelled (and even people who haven’t) are recommending “must-visit” restaurants and sharing personal stories for that one holiday they took. We live in a time we’re AI is churning out dry or unrealistic itineraries in a single click, usually a copy and paste of the standard Portugal Itinerary that everyone is following.
I designed and put together this map after 10 years of travel in Portugal to make it easy to find everything you need to build an itinerary in one place.
You can use this map in conjunction with your own planning or simply by itself. By using this and my travel guides you can trust you have everything you need to plan a detailed and meaningful itinerary and trip to Portugal.
Human Travel Planning
There was no AI used in building this map. AI tools are in every space including travel and in the same way for those other areas AI can be both helpful and hindering. There is one place where AI doesn’t make sense at all and that is travel planning. AI may be able to scrape for information but it cannot replace the depth of knowledge of a human when travel is about human experience and feeling.

Working with a Travel Planner
If you’d like some extra help with an itinerary or you don’t have time to put together a trip, I can do it for you. Travel planning is my main service and I’ve helped hundreds of people build custom itineraries for Portugal. Book a call and itinerary and the map will be included for free.
Travel Planning Map FAQ
Can I access / view the map while traveling?
Yes, regardless of the country you are in you will be able to access the map. To view the live map you must have an internet connection.
Is the map up to date?
The map is as up to date as Google. Businesses such as restaurants and hotels are responsible for updating their own opening hours. Since I am always traveling around Portugal I am always adding new points of interest to the map and removing pins that are no longer relevant/open.
How accurate is the business information?
The information on GoogleMaps such as website and opening times is updated by the owner of that business.
Are there any advertisements on the map?
No. All the pins on the map are based on my own personal experience of living in and traveling around Portugal. No one has paid me any money to appear on the map. I work with lots of small, independent businesses in Portugal and my goal is always to promote these. I only pin businesses I genuinely recommend and care about.
Can I add pins or edit the map?
No. The only person who can edit the map is me. The map is edited monthly with new places being added all the time.
Can I share the map?
Only your email can access the map so you cannot send it to anyone else or upload it online. This is to protect my work.
I don’t have a Google Email/ Gmail email address. Can I still use the map?
The map is hosted by GoogleMaps so you need a Google account to access it. If you don’t have one you can create one very quickly for no cost.
How to set up a Gmail Account in 2 minutes:
